Hermes Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 Looks like it might be a bottle opener, but i'm not at all sure what it is? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280243110827&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=018 James Quote

Brian Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 Whatever it is, it's junk. :? I wouldn't even melt it down to make a seppa  Brian Quote
Kajihei Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 Hi All, It may be an antique samurai penis ring, to be used like this modern version. http://www.wherebridesgo.com/Merchant2/ ... -game1.jpg Sorry, couldn't resist.... Kaji Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 It is a Bokuto tsuba. The writing says Okinawa Hilton. Quote
Bungo Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 It is a Bokuto tsuba. The writing says Okinawa Hilton. I prefer Paris Hilton if there's a choice............... milt Quote
James Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Yes I agree, it is a bokken tsuba. I have the same kind of thing but plastic though I have seen some fancy bokken tsubas. Quote
Jacques Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Hi, I Don't think it is a bokuto tsuba, i practice kenjutsu (TSKSR) since a long time; most of kenjutsu schools don't use tsuba on their bokken; and i don't think a heavy tsuba like this one can be usable (a bokken is made without machi  ). Baka Gaijin Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 Morning all, If it truly says Okinawa Hilton, why not try Hotel key fob, Hotel room Door escutcheon plate for lock, or Hikite for fusuma door...??? As it has a design on both sides, my last two thoughts are a bit thin, so I'll say Key Fob. Just a thought. Malcolm Quote
Brian Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 What it is, is something that is not antique, not genuine, and not worth a whole page of discussion  How about we let this one die, and maybe someone can start a thread on genuine nagamaki tsuba like some that were shown here? Brian Quote
