Manny Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Good morning, I am in need of a bit of guidance. I own a shin gunto made in the traditional method by Emaru Suka. There appears to be a cloudy curved vertical line on the hamon about an inch from the Kissaki. It is only on one side of the blade. I am at a loss and trying to identify the type of flaw this might be. I have attached a photo which is not very good quality. The rest of the blade has very active hamon and Hada. Any help would be greatly appreciated. R/ Manny Quote
kissakai Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 I think a better image possibly taken outside and in focus will help Quote
Ray Singer Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Manny, I can vaguely see what you are describing. Are you sure that it is within the hamon and not a blemish to the polish itself? Perhaps bring to Tampa for in-hand feedback, if you are planning to attend. Best regards, Ray Quote
ROKUJURO Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Manny, it is difficult to decide what could be a flaw or a reflection. The photo is really no help. The Tampa exhibition might be a good idea.Your sword is possibly made by EMURA. SAKU means 'made by' ......I own a shin gunto made in the traditional method by Emaru Suka..... Quote
