TheGermanBastard Posted January 8, 2019 Report Posted January 8, 2019 I bought a tsuba removal Kit on Amazon. Price was low .. quality is less than that. Total junk. What was described as "2 Velvet Blocks" turned out to be two junk wood blocks with red gaffer tape. Absolutely useless and so poorly made one should feel ashamed. The brand name is Musashi. Probably sold by lots of reseller with the sane source. Don't waste your money on this crap ... Quote
ggil Posted January 9, 2019 Report Posted January 9, 2019 Thanks for sharing. Never heard of a tsuba removal tool. I heard of tsuka removal tool, Fred Lohman has that market cornered: $30 for wood mallet and the funky shaped wedge thing, and decently crafted, from the pics and my experience of other stuff he gets crafted in PI (his horn parts are great, for example) Quote

vajo Posted January 9, 2019 Report Posted January 9, 2019 Tsuba removing tool sounds like a Y-ps Gimmick. I'm sure Luis means a tsuka removing tool. My tsuka removing tool is a bible and 2 pieces of small wood. Works really fine. Blade between old and new testament. Knee on the bible. On piece of wood on top of the tsuka and slightly and smooth hammering with the other piece. Quote
TheGermanBastard Posted January 9, 2019 Author Report Posted January 9, 2019 It is being advertized as Tsuba removal tool ... that's why I write Tsuba removal tool. https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B004W2OCW4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Quote
vajo Posted January 9, 2019 Report Posted January 9, 2019 It makes no sense for me. Maybe for newer chinese sword? Quote
