16k Posted April 19, 2019 Report Posted April 19, 2019 I knew this was a bad time to rework the holiday house. Amazing blade offered here! edit I believe Aoi art says it best: Quote

Bugyotsuji Posted June 9, 2019 Report Posted June 9, 2019 We had a fine slim Oei Bizen Yasumitsu wakizashi (sun-nobi tanto?) at the NBTHK local meeting yesterday. Lots of utsuri, but seriously togiberi. Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted June 9, 2019 Report Posted June 9, 2019 Yes, worn thin/slim from too many polishes. 2 verbs, Togu/togi plus Heru (grow fewer or lesser) heri/beri, ‘togiberi’ is a bandied-about word here. 1 Quote
Gakusee Posted June 9, 2019 Report Posted June 9, 2019 Thanks! Well, Jean’s sword is very good and not togiberi at all. 4 Quote

paulb Posted August 15, 2019 Report Posted August 15, 2019 The sword has arrived safely in it's new home. As has often been said before dealing with Jean is always a great pleasure and any transaction simple, trouble free and smooth. Having had a short time to look at the blade I think it is a great testament to Jean's scholarship and understanding that he he was able to identify this sword for the very rare example it is and add it to his gokaden collection. I am sure the current custodian will gain equal enjoyment from it for many years to come. 8 Quote
Ray Singer Posted August 15, 2019 Report Posted August 15, 2019 Glad to see that the Yasumitsu has gone to a good home. Having bought the Mino example for myself, I can only second Paul's comments above. The Soshu and Yamato examples also went to good friends. Hopefully this Gokaden collection can be brought together at a gathering sometime in the future. Best regards, Ray 4 Quote
