Hi guys,

 

Any help/thoughts on this one would be much appreciated. Seller says kanechika but because Im not very good at this and am having trouble matching it in my search.

with the KANJI pages provided by the board, it seems that the second KANJI is KAZU (or ICHI) and the third might be FUMI. The experts might know better.

Hi Jean, using the book Japanese sword of Japan by Joseph Bott Ichi was the only one I could match too. Thank you.

I didnt realize I still had this info but they say kiku ichimonju and the other side kanechika and the date tanwa era 1681-1684 but looking at the other side????? Obviously its been removed. Thoughts? Again im sorry for the pic angle.

The seller could be right. The mei doesn't say Kanechika, but the mei is another name for Kanechika. Now, armed with that info, you should be able to search and get the rest.

The mei Kiku Ichi / Kiku Ichimonji seems to also be seen quite a bit in late (Showa) pieces. A factory/mass production of sorts I believe. The name is still being used.
