I read them as "Ono Kiyoshi Saku"

Nobody like that is in Haynes, and I'm wondering if I have misread them.

I tried a few other variations with no real luck.

 

Any better recommendations?

Referring to the cross decoration, it is probably 'made in Switzerland'. I can understand that you don't find it mentioned in Japanese literature!

It looks Owari Kinko to me and the signature says "Ono....", which is an area of great interest to me.-

so I am studying this one to keep brain from festering in my dayjob.

 

I'd be curious to find this one correctly in Haynes.

Other than that, Swiss or other members can have it. I'm on the sidelines for now, though did learn something I wanted and through sold is apparently still on the market.

It is a little out of my league in this famine year, but we will see.

 

Meanwhile:   any other reads on the signature?

The most common name reading of (記) would be NORI but I can't find any NORIYOSHI either.

I also gave it a try as Noriyoshi, but found nothing. I was hoping for a 3rd reading or a clue. There cannot be too many "Ono" ____ Yoshi, but I don't have Haynes in a searchable database format.

I like Kiyoshi too, and tried as many readings as possible, no luck. Haynes while comprehensive is incomplete, so.... Not a huge cadre of Ono kaji, just this one obscure perhaps? John
