Hi guys

 

I am interested in buying this tanto from aoi art. All I really want to know is if you guys think it looks tired or if it's had one too many polishes in its life time.

I think its an ok blade, only things against it are Mumei Muromachi and not papered.

Yeah I'm not fussed about papers and famous signatures etc, I was more concerned about the condition and whether or not it seems it's tired or not. Thanks

One more pic if that helps decide if it's healthy. To me it looks healthy and not tired. What do you guys think?

1. is hamon weak???

 

2. "polished", hmm, that could mean in house, fwiw.

 

3. no mention it will paper

    a. has it failed already? 

    b. mumei should paper 

 

4. no mention of utsuri, yet appears on oshigata

    a. there is one type of utsuri, name escapes me???, that appears when a blade is tired.

 

Concerns which should be answered before buying.

If the sword has not papered now it probably will never, the hamon is not weak but needs a polish i think. If anything oshigata shows Nioiguchi.

 

However for the price it is ok but not a winner.

 

There are far better swords...but commanding far higher prices

The blade looks not bad to my eyes.  And with the koshirae the price is not very expensive.
