Another variant of this style.

It has a mei (光徳作時代) that doesn't come up in Sesko's meikan, but a nice looking signature nonetheless. I like the kanji strokes that were done as round dots rather than linear strokes.

Perhaps this is a kettle makers work, rather than a tsubako? I'm curious to see if anyone else can find examples of this mei in whatever meikan they may have access to.

Also, there's a clear irregular casting "crease" line along the body and fin at the 10 o'clock position of the signed side. And the eyes didn't quite turn out as they usually do (especially on the ura side).

now to compare to the previous two:

By the way Dale, I think the one you just posted is the same one from the July 4th post, on page 3 of this thread :)

I don't think it sold the first time, so it has come back up again, but with different images this time.

You are right Glen same one going around the merry-go-round. [Not my cup of tea - not enough piercings]

The signed variant above - Kubrick version "Eyes Wide Shut"   Seriously I think this is a 'type' where the eyes are (badly) glued on, and obviously failed. Similar to the 'Horse and wood cutter'

here you go Dale, another new one :)

The seller, true to form, is calling this one Higo Jingo (as he says about almost every one of his tsuba).

Looks more like an interesting hybrid between Echizen Kinai, Jakushi, and a touch of Heianjo...

Regardless of who made it, it's a very cool looking shachi

Love how the dragon's "moustache" weaves over then behind the crashing waves.

Here's a very nice, signed shakudo example.

"Choshu Hagi Yugitoshi" was what was stated, but not sure if that's the correct reading or not:

Nice one Damon. Looks like a Hazama piece, with their unique "bubbling" alloy inlay

Here's a cast iron example that came up today (not even in the same universe of quality compared to the Hazama).

Nice design on this one though.

Notice the casting "mid-line seam" in the nakago ana in the bottom image, and general telltale surface texture, and color, and wobbly seppa-dai surface etc.

The last example I showed is almost identical to one posted back in  February 10

There are minor differences between the two, so minor I am convinced both are cast  - for example the hitsu outlines are thicker in one than the other but other details are the same.
