Hi Oliver,

Here's my best shot, the brackets indicate the bits I couldn't get:

黒石地[  ]鞘半太刀拵

Kuro (black) Ishiji [    ] saya handachi koshirae

Fuchi kashira yamagane ji (yamagane ground).

Menuki snowflake theme [     ]

Tsuba warrior theme tetsu ji (iron ground).

Best,

John

Hello John!

Thank you very much.

There is no indication on the blacksmith? no date, not the name of the expert?

I thought there was more precision on a Ntbhk paper.

Best wish

You did a good job, thanks for your help.

The seller of this katana told me that it was attributed to a blacksmith named ECHIZEN SHIGETAKA and that this was indicated on the paper? Really?

Best,

Oliver

Hello Jussi.

Thank you!

I understand now, I'm sorry, I have two papers but I thought it was enough.

I will put the second paper but I have the impression that the kanji are the same!

Best,

Oliver

Hello Oliver,

The paper itself is a standard format, using the same pre-printed text/kanji on it. But the bits in handwriting, which are the bits that define the outcome of the appraisal, are different. The appraisal sheet for the sword indicates it is indeed a mumei sword attributed to Echizen Shigetaka

The paper for the koshirae is mostly as John says, with a few bits added by me

目貫雪図 () snow and bamboo theme (the last 2 or 3 kanji are illegible to me. edit: I thought it might be "mumei", but now I think it refers to the type of metalwork)
鐔 武図鉄地     weapons and armor theme

And, if you are interested there are a million threads and posts concerning this type of appraisal paper (green paper) on this site.

Hello Jean

Yes, there are real experts and people who are very available.

This is a great quality.

I would not hesitate to ask questions if I need and in French too, my English is not the best.

Thank you so much!

Best wish,

Oliver
