Greg F Posted October 28, 2018 Report Posted October 28, 2018 Hello all, has anyone looked at komonjo lately? Now is your chance to get a Masamune or Muramasa dirt cheap lol. Greg
PNSSHOGUN Posted October 28, 2018 Report Posted October 28, 2018 Not mention a Munechika and other famous smiths with zero papers. I think the Masamune would still paper to Koto Soshu with Kinpun removed. 2
Vermithrax16 Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 We are off base, I learned this week that a collector has bought 10 swords from Komonjo and ALL papered at the Minnie show shinsa.
Ken-Hawaii Posted November 4, 2018 Report Posted November 4, 2018 I learned this week that a collector has bought 10 swords from Komonjo and ALL papered at the Minnie show shinsa. Add two of mine that I bought from Mike that also papered to the smiths he had advertised. 1
Vermithrax16 Posted November 4, 2018 Report Posted November 4, 2018 Add two of mine that I bought from Mike that also papered to the smiths he had advertised. Well then Komonjo is a reputable source for blades. 1
Surfson Posted November 4, 2018 Report Posted November 4, 2018 I stopped looking at the listings from him and Showa long ago, as the number of obvious gimei was unacceptably high.
PNSSHOGUN Posted November 4, 2018 Report Posted November 4, 2018 There are some interesting Shin Gunto fakes, the first is a Yasukuni-To Imperial gift sword, the other a "Masamune" with an inscription claiming it was carried by General Yamashita, complete with the wrong blue brown grade tassel. 1
TheGermanBastard Posted November 4, 2018 Report Posted November 4, 2018 He is a reputable vendor with excellent service
Surfson Posted November 4, 2018 Report Posted November 4, 2018 To his credit, I have not seen him claim that a sword is something it is not, and he has even openly stated on occasion that a blade is gimei. (as I recall, he stated that if the sword is not gimei he will happily refund the purchase price...) 4
Ian B3HR2UH Posted November 12, 2018 Report Posted November 12, 2018 He has a few more treasures for sale on ebay . Anyone who buys any of these yasukuni pieces , those with gold attributions or those purportedly by big name smiths is in my opinion a fool who is just asking to do their money. Ian Brooks 4
vajo Posted November 12, 2018 Report Posted November 12, 2018 The yasukuni-to is "offensichtlich" fake. The reputation is blowing in the wind. 2
AndyMcK Posted November 13, 2018 Report Posted November 13, 2018 I have bought several blades from him, he has never claimed that something is authentic but when asked for more detail will say if he think it is gimei. I have also papered few blades from him to the smiths they were sold as. And have got some bargains as well in that process, for example one Etchu no kami Masatoshi blade. I think he is just selling many of the blades like the consignee as him to sell them as. In short, no complaints here yet. -Antti 3
Brian Posted November 13, 2018 Report Posted November 13, 2018 Don't know why people are so obsessed with him and Showa22. There is already plenty of info here to make up your mind about either. Can we stop flogging a dead horse now? 3
Jean Posted November 13, 2018 Report Posted November 13, 2018 It has been several days that this topic bores me, does not brIng anything new, so as I am in a bad mood today I lock it... 5
