This "here we go again" is with reference to the Koshirae....remember...the horses, Lol!

The koshirae he presents is distincly different than the others posted here before.  If all that was posted here was never seen unique material........there would be precious few posts.  How many times can we look at the same gunto koshirae, or what are essentially the same tsuba with minute variations......forever it seems.  This is the nature of many things, but some revel in minutiae.  So how is this any different?

The Hagiya Katsuhira koshirae is owned by Mike Yamasaki and I believe has been brought to several of of the N. California study sessions for others to enjoy. The (Kencho) Kanenaga Ju-to inside is nothing to sneeze at either. Link and detail photos below.

Thanks. I can take the criticism.

But is the original Phoenix koshirae Chinese or Japanese? Looks to be of Chinese influence. On AOI site his pictures are much better and it actually has a serious amount of detail.

Yes the second "dragon" koshirae is amazing and houses an equally amazing sword.

PS. Thers a horse koshirae? I'm year of the horse????

Dwain,

You do not want to see the infamous horse koshirae, believe me, no one who has seen it wants to see it again.  It is the stuff of nightmares, some thing are best left undisturbed.

While outstanding, this one Mike has, to me, is even better:
