Dear Andreas.

 

Go carefully, I do not think this is Japanese shirasaya but rather modern martial arts sword.  Certainly could be wrong but have a good look at the blade.

 

Of course you may already know this.........

Should be

一、血気の勇を戒める事 (or 戒むる事) 

Hitotsu, Kekki no yū wo imashimeru koto

 

although everything after 戒 is unreadable.

One of the 5 precepts of a certain Karate school. Someone else has translated this as 

"Guard against impetuous courage" (i.e. don't get into heated arguments/fights)
