Picked up this guy on a Army sword. It has no business being on that sword. All army mounts except the tsuba, which really didn’t fit right anyway. Anyhow wanted to see if the signature was right.

Kōshū Hikone jū  Sōheishi Nyūdō Sōten sei

 

A legitimate signature of one of many tsuba maker from mid-late Edo, Ōmi-Sōheishi school (not "the Sōten", of course).

Whatever Soten artist it is, he did a good job.

Congratulations Charlie, IMHO your Soten tsuba quality is above most of what we currently see in this school.
