translation Translation Assistance Please.

Hello:

I've had this katana since 2011. and may now be forced to sell or trade it. Any translation assistance of the makers signature, and the inscription in yellow, to the right of the engraving, would help me find it's fair price rqnge. I think they are all priceless, but then again, tbe bills have to be paid. I believe the picturs is clear, but I always take new ones if required. Thank you all,

Turn the pic 180 degrees, it is upside down. Showato...mass produced blade based on the Seki stamp. Best to post a pic of the whole sword too, with fittings.

MEI looks like KANEMASA, but it is very probably not handmade. The yellow painted numbers are just assembly marks.

Thanks for the info. I don't read Japanese, but I know what it is, and the dealer I will likely sell it to, knows what is. You don't. I regret asking for a translation here. "Expects" may exist here, but they get paid for what do or, they pass on their knowledge because they feel like it. Delete my account. Please. And thank you, to the only person who tried to address a translation question. I pay experts, when I need them, like doctors, lawyers and accountant.

Experts in any field=paid.

Get it.

Hope you don't pay someone too much to tell you it is an arsenal non-traditionally made wartime sword by Kanemasa.

The policy here is to give free opinions, no money involved, unfortunately for you, on this board you will find the greatest experts in the field of WWII blades, so any paid expertise on this sword will be wasted money. In Nihonto field, Most of the experts I have met were not professionals but amateurs driven by passion. NMB members are driven by passion and not by money, you will be surprised that some of our members are able to discuss at length and for pages (sigh) on the validity of a screw, or handle. The signature of this blade coupled with the Seki arsenal stamp betraid a non traditional nihonto.

 

If nobody else have answered, it is because nothing more has to be added. Ite misa est...

 

If you know what you have, no need to ask ... what is important is that you don’t pay too much for this sword and that you’ll recover your money.
