lotus Posted September 27, 2018 Report Posted September 27, 2018 I was thinking it could be Akasaka school based on the style, rim, thickness, and seppa. Though I see no evidence of 3 fold construction and although seller claims .6 cm thickness, the rim pics seem thinner to my eyes anyway. My second choice would be Shoami. Also, any thoughts on era? Vertical (H): about 7.8cm horizontal (W): about 7.6cm depth (D): about 0.6cm Quote
lonely panet Posted September 27, 2018 Report Posted September 27, 2018 Appears tobe akasaka school. Maybe a later tadaoki generations Random guess hahaha If you pass on it let me know. I like it 1 Quote

lotus Posted September 27, 2018 Author Report Posted September 27, 2018 Are the circles supposed to be stars? And Hamfish, I will let definately let you know if I am not interested. Quote
FlorianB Posted September 28, 2018 Report Posted September 28, 2018 Yes, moon and stars. Stars are frequently connected with lines, this look is unusual and reminds me to dew-drops. I agree with the Akasaka attribution, probably a later piece. Indeed the "three-layer-construction" wasn't made everytimes. However, a good looking specimen in design and metal. Florian Quote
lotus Posted September 28, 2018 Author Report Posted September 28, 2018 Florian - Yeah, I am thinking later Akasaka makes the most sense. And I agree, a pretty nice looking one!! Quote
