Hello, I recently got this sword in on a gun trade not too long ago. He didn't have a lot of information on it, but claims it was a 1925-1935 showa era piece. Any information on it would be greatly appriciated!

Sorry to confirm Johns findings, it is unfortunately a modern Chinese fake.  Read the link he provided and take caution in the future, before acquiring another sword I suggest you spend some time on NMB studying the posts, they are quite educational.
