foma Posted September 5, 2018 Report Posted September 5, 2018 Friends- I found a local matchlock for sale, was wondering if anyone can tell me more about it. Links attached and thanks in advance. http://www.vaguntrader.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/1395803/Re:_Japanese_matchlock,_origin#Post1395803 Paul F. Quote
Viper6924 Posted September 6, 2018 Report Posted September 6, 2018 Well, to me it looks to be a quite good-looking matchlock. It’s of course missing some parts like the rain-protection. The pancover looks ”modified”. The end of the rifle-butt suggests that this is Tazuke-ryu matchlock. The shape of the barrel might also suggest that this gun was made in Hino, which is close to Kunitomo. You might want to wait for the seller to drop the price a bit futher. Jan Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted September 12, 2018 Report Posted September 12, 2018 BTT means... back to topic, ie 'bump? The pan lid is also a temporary repair. No shots of the inside of the pan, either... Not really able to pin down any school, but probably manufactured in one of the Osaka/Ohmi areas with hints of Sakai, Kunotomo, or Hino. Still, could be a good generic starter/learner gun, and a dropped price might make it more attractive. My first gun was at $3,500 but the dealer dropped it to $2,500 and I bit, and was hooked! Quote
