Ray Singer Posted September 5, 2018 Report Posted September 5, 2018 I am curious if these is a source for bamboo kogatana, which are occasionally seen to place a kozuka into a koshirae (where a real kogatana does not exist). If is probably not a big undertaking to make one, however I thought I would ask if there are any suppliers online. Best regards, Ray Quote
Baka Gaijin Posted September 5, 2018 Report Posted September 5, 2018 Hi Ray, closest I can find are tsunagi blanks at Namikawa Heibei: http://www.namikawa-ltd.com/product/144 Quote
TETSUGENDO Posted September 5, 2018 Report Posted September 5, 2018 Ray, Did a web search, every incarnation of Kogatana but bamboo, sorry! AYS, making one is easy enough just pick your material, I've seen them made of brass, silver, mop, the afore mentioned bamboo, and even a gold one. Also, as you probably know, they are usually availble inexpensively on the Bay. -S- Quote
Ray Singer Posted September 5, 2018 Author Report Posted September 5, 2018 Thank you Steven and Malcolm. Yes, I may go the route of making my own (I want to avoid any undue stress/wear on the kozuka mounting an authentic kogatana). Best regards, Ray Quote
