Komonjo has 2 tanto for sale forged by "Living National Treasure" smiths Sumitani Masamine and Miyairi Akihira.

Any opinions about the blades and any guesses about final price?

I have dealt with Komonjo in the past and have found him to be excellent.

I think both blades look very interesting.

Thanks,

I like the Gendaito Tanto Miyairi Akihira and have it saved in my ebay as well as the other one, price is very hard to tell, my guess is around $1500 i would say, buy until the lady in the Pantsuit says it's over, who knows? hehe

Any idea why Mike still lists as Historian333 and now Komonjo too..? Is he in the process of a slow change over or something?

By the way I echo the appraisal of MY... very good guy and excellent to deal with..

Cheers!

I believe (correct me if I am wrong) that one he uses for his own stock, and one is for consignment items he is selling for others.

I have some difficulties to understand :

"Katana in shirasaya. Signed: "Izumi no kami Fujiwara Kunisada." Authenticated by NTHK which states that the blade is by the first generation (Inoue Shinkai) but signed by the second generation."

Could someone enlighten me?? The son begots the father??

Too much pizza tonight and    :dunno: :dunno:
