Hector_A Posted July 3, 2018 Report Posted July 3, 2018 I'm very curious if the inscription has any meaning, the characters look very weird. Only got the picture of the nakago, i'm still waiting for pictures of the blade. Thank you for looking and translating. Quote
Curran Posted July 3, 2018 Report Posted July 3, 2018 Indeed weird: Noshu Seki __ (X) ____ I don't think I've seen an (X) as part of a signature on a Japanese blade. Others will probably comment with better info. Your avatar is of a relatively well known published signed Kunitomo tsuba. Is it yours? Quote
Curran Posted July 3, 2018 Report Posted July 3, 2018 So a weird looking, Noshu Seki _ Suke (Sada) _ ? A fair number of these come out of the ole factory circa WW2, or is it a Chinese fake? Looks rather dodgy to me. You guys know I all about the fittings, so I shouldn't be the one leading Hector to a conclusion on a blade. I'm here because of the tsuba Hector used as an avatar. Quote
Stephen Posted July 3, 2018 Report Posted July 3, 2018 kanji before is yoshi x in box or circle is da so yoshida Suke 1 Quote
Grey Doffin Posted July 3, 2018 Report Posted July 3, 2018 I think this is Noshu Seki Fukuda Sukemitsu. However, it doesn't match with either of the examples included in Fuller & Gregory. Grey 1 Quote
