nagamaki - Franco Posted June 5, 2018 Report Posted June 5, 2018 Hello, Uncertain if I'm posting in correct forum??? Please move if so, thank you. As much as all the images posted are enjoyable to view, far too many, imo, are too large to 'comfortably' view when clicking on them. Not only do they fill the entire monitor screen (and I have a fairly large monitor), but they also become annoyingly out of focus rendering them practically useless. This is true for both fittings and swords, but especially swords. Is there a way to address this issue? I know and am aware there is a size limit when uploading images. None the less, it seems more attention needs to be given to this, perhaps pixel limits set, too? Thank you.
Brian Posted June 5, 2018 Report Posted June 5, 2018 There was a smaller pixel limit set, and then I got complaints that the pictures weren't big enough. People couldn't see detail in hi-res images. Then I increased the limit to 1500 x 1800 pixels. If I reduce that, I am going to get people moaning that the limit is too small. It would be easier if people could just learn how to resize their own images. It is 2018 now...the resources to do this are easy and free. The forum doesn't make images blurry or large, it only displays the exact image uploaded, and at the size it was uploaded at.
nagamaki - Franco Posted June 5, 2018 Author Report Posted June 5, 2018 Then I increased the limit to 1500 x 1800 pixels. Hi Brian, That pixel limit size should be more than enough to work with for showing detail. Which means that folks should be reviewing and then cropping/editing/downsizing their posted images a second time, and then if need be copy/enlarge/crop particular segments that need to be seen in greater detail. Thanks.
kissakai Posted June 6, 2018 Report Posted June 6, 2018 Yes it is down to the 'poster' Horrible when I see blurred imaages as the person should view before posting I size mine to around 30cm (11") as if the image is too big it takes longer to open but needs to big enough to see the detail Also for example on a sword the image should show the whole naked blade, the nakago and the mei These should be cropped only to show the feature not the background If these are reasonable images the MNB members can ask for additional images
