Stephen Posted May 24, 2018 Report Posted May 24, 2018 Being the koshirae thats being done for gendai Hiromasa is basically new, saya n tsuka and suaka tosogu not really older than late edo. Why not use a contemporary tsuba? Im in hopes it last a century, so some day it will be antique right? Would like to know what you think. 3 Quote
TETSUGENDO Posted May 24, 2018 Report Posted May 24, 2018 Stephen, If it compliments the rest of the elements why not, looks very attractive to me....love that warm copper patina! Should survive to be an antique several times over. Cheers, 1 Quote
Stephen Posted May 24, 2018 Author Report Posted May 24, 2018 Other option...which fits better in with dragon menuki n F/K. 1 Quote
TETSUGENDO Posted May 24, 2018 Report Posted May 24, 2018 Stephen, This one is also nice. Can you post the other pieces so I can see what you are working with? 1 Quote
ROKUJURO Posted May 24, 2018 Report Posted May 24, 2018 Stephen,I like both TSUBA, but I would have to see the whole KODOGU set to make up an opinion. 1 Quote
Stephen Posted May 24, 2018 Author Report Posted May 24, 2018 this does stand out, where they end in three days may make the choice ...or may go beyond my bank??? in that case its go ahead with this, just wanted something a bit larger Quote
TETSUGENDO Posted May 24, 2018 Report Posted May 24, 2018 Stephen, I am really liking the menuki and f/k. You have made two good choices....I like both. If I was simply choosing a tsuba I like option one, but since it is to be part of an ensemble option two seems the better fit for me. Tough call .....whatever your choice it would be hard to find fault. Cheers, p.s.- There is absolutely nothing wrong with "THIS" either. Question is....which one works for YOU? 1 Quote
SAS Posted May 24, 2018 Report Posted May 24, 2018 Either way, you have great taste in kodogu.... 1 Quote
Carlo Giuseppe Tacchini Posted May 24, 2018 Report Posted May 24, 2018 score one more fore the tsuba n.1 1 Quote
george trotter Posted May 25, 2018 Report Posted May 25, 2018 Hi Stephen, I think both tsubas are nice. Tsuba #1 appeals to my "taste" but tsuba #2 probably fits the menuki and fk theme the best? Just my opinion. 1 Quote
Stephen Posted May 27, 2018 Author Report Posted May 27, 2018 I thank you all for time and opinions. Both look to close at reasonable price,,,,,but something has come along to change my mind, Where Dragons are born from carp. the one we called "this" may be for sale soon to help pay for above 2 Quote
