Namakubi Tsuba

Hello gentlemen, 

 

Today I came across this interesting tsuba for sale on ebay. For the first time I see such subject for tosogu. I do not intend to buy, I'm just curious. Have you seen tosogu with similar subject?  How rare is it?

Never seen one like that. Why two faces on the reverse, I wonder?

Seen before, severed head and skeleton form tsuba very uncommon/rare, they are often fakes.  For this piece at 8,500 dollars, papers should be a must.  This is what I would call a "Dickens sale".

The Tsuba is very fine made. The artist has made a lot of thoughts and do it well.

The price which is asking is incredible. But the tsuba is very good in my eyes.
