charlie1 Posted May 14, 2018 Report Posted May 14, 2018 This signature sure looks gimei to me. Funny, the seller even references the page in the Slough book to look it up. Wanted to get some opinions... DRDave Posted May 14, 2018 Report Posted May 14, 2018 Haven't got Slough's book, but Aoi guaranteed this would paper, and I'd say the one on eBay compares favorably. Quote
Stephen Posted May 14, 2018 Report Posted May 14, 2018 Looks like all the other Nobufusa's ive seen. He has a bad rep...too bad some good swords comes his way. Quote
Mark Posted May 14, 2018 Report Posted May 14, 2018 at a quick glance it looks fine to me. i am not into gendai but have seen a few by this maker (2 generations i think) Quote
Stephen Posted May 14, 2018 Report Posted May 14, 2018 What leads you to gimei? looks just as 8th gen in sloughs book. Quote
charlie1 Posted May 14, 2018 Author Report Posted May 14, 2018 A couple of the characters seem off. At first glance it looks good. However, looking closely stroke for stroke next to the book. It’s looks funny to me. Quote
Stephen Posted May 14, 2018 Report Posted May 14, 2018 If i was paying someone to forge a signature it wouldn't be the snaky Nobufusa 1 Quote
charlie1 Posted May 14, 2018 Author Report Posted May 14, 2018 You are probably right Stephen. However, with the current price of gendai swords anything is possible nowadays. Quote
Peter Bleed Posted May 14, 2018 Report Posted May 14, 2018 Listen to Stephen! This sword looks fine to me. Peter 1 Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted May 15, 2018 Report Posted May 15, 2018 Only thing looks off is the kissaki which may have been poorly repaired. Quote
reeder Posted May 16, 2018 Report Posted May 16, 2018 The mei seems fine to me. I don’t think the reference to sloughs has any significance other than referencing Sloughs like all of the other listings out there. I’m quite sure you would put Sloughs references in your listings if able to on a higher rated smith. Quote
