Wow. That was lightening fast Ray thank you. What about the rest of the Japanese I can't read like the date, hamon, etc. I'm also surprised is was ubu nakago and wakizashi. If I recall I measured it at 24" and change, and I had thought it was suriage. THese are positive results I think.

Frankly, I suspect the classification as a wakizashi is a mistake. At the last Tampa shinsa we reviewed the worksheets after shinsa and, in one case where a clearly osuriage sword was marked as ubu, we brought back for the records to be corrected. A 2 shaku 5 sun or 62.1cm sword I believe should always be regarded as a daito. At these stateside shinsa a lot of swords are being reviewed at a quick pace. Mistakes happen. If the sword were mine I would take the sheet back for an explanation, and potentially a correction.

I would have taken it back to the shinsa and pointed it out, they would have corrected it. I am sure they will catch it when the produce the paper but just to be sure contact Chris and let him know. You can email him at swords@ejapaneseswords.com  they get a bit busy and probably just a simple mistake
