Hi All

i would like some valued opinions on a wakizashi i acquired recently.

The blade width seems very narrow almost like it was made for a child.

Is the blade late Edo?

Any opinions would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance

John C

I think Edo is a safe bet. Decent polish, nice activity, only a few Ware & other flaws. Otherwise not much else to say beyond it's a nice looking package, hope you didn't pay too much for it, Mumei Wakizashi are low on the market at the moment.

Definately an Edo periode peice. Probably Shinto. Could be a Kaga school piece. I don't think it is a child sword. Just a normal Wakizashi for a merchant or some other dude. Blade is okay with some Kizu. Tsuba & Tsuka look decent. Teh value is probably in them.

I did not pay too much for the Wakizashi John, just liked the Koshirae and thought it was a nice package to display in my Japanese room at home.

Thanks again

John C.
