Any ideas about this blade? Age and school?

I think Edo 19th century. Its mumei. I can't see a yasurime pattern. The Hamon looks very dark, acid etched?

Geraint you are right. I think that too.

I was unsure about that offer because it was cheap. But it is cheap because of its bad quality.

Thanks for your opinion.

Tourist piece, i think not. I will take a real look on this in the afternoon. It seems the guy who sell it live not far from my home. The blade looks to massive for a tourist tanto with carved bones koshirae.

Late Edo Periode Yoroi Doshi... probably a bit reshaped / having lost some meat. There are some grind marks near the cutting edge and the boshi is to thin in my oppinion. I a great piece? No. Does it make sense to get polished? No. Should you buy it? Depends on the price tag, I think it is not worth more than 250 USD so you would only be tempeted to buy it if priced very cheap.

Hi Christian. 320 EUR but nothing fits together. Tsuba was a rough silver plated copper one. Tsuka was broken. Ugly fittings and a crude saya. The blade was flawless. The hamon very dark.
