Hi All :D

A mate of mine has found a straight blade on ebay link below, dose anyone know of this seller or can comment on the swords he is selling.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... :IT&ih=009

The thing is he is wanting a custom made blade with 0 sori (straight blade) and his own horimono design with habaki and shirasaya.

Do you know a sword smith who may be able to make this blade?

Cheers

The one on eBay is probably Japanese in name only, the rest I am pretty sure is Chinese. Higher level forged Chinese, but I am confident these are not made in Japan. Pretty obvious really.

I would bother with them myself.

If you want a genuine Nihonto, then go to Usagiya website and custom order one to be made. You are not going to come even close to the price of that replica on eBay though..more like $6000-10000.

I will eat my hat if those are not made in China and i agree, why not order a real one made by Keiun Naohiro, i have a one of his swords made in 2004, very nice work, affordable IMO, made in Japan not China. hehe

Cheers Guys :D

Thanks for your comments.

I did suspect that the swords were Chinese made though receiving your comments dose confirm with my mate that he should look at having a custom made blade, made by one of the reputable commercial dealers on this forum.

Thank god for this forum it does make things easier, don't you agree

Cheers

I know this seller and he sells chinese fakes. I purchased one of his swords when i was very new to collecting went to get it valued and found out i was taken for a ride. Good old ebay would do nothing about him. So stay clear of this guy.
