This is a little something I've just started to experiment with.

 

As and when I get interesting pieces in my studio I may, with the owner's permission, do similar little explanatory film clips.

And I'll get the close up focussing sorted as I get better at this sort of filming.

Hmmm, maybe. But a lesser known kabuki scene on a fuchigashira?

This is from 'The Art Appreciation of Japanese Sword Fittings' by Shigeo Fukushi, page 50 and I believe it is the theme Ford mentioned:
