78 swords photographed so far on this trip.

My personal highlight was photographing the Juyo Bijutsuhin Hisakuni graciously lent by the owner.

Two Ko-Hoki blades have been done, Niji Kunitoshi -> Rai Kunitoshi -> Rai Kunimitsu (tokuju), three Ichimonji, a Kunimune, etc. and so on.

The hardest to photograph so far is this really wide Yari that Milt brought in.

More to do tomorrow... didn't get to them all nearly.

It does not surprise me as my Ronin friend is full of surprises/tricks.

He is hiding behind a mask... :o :o

Is there a smiley for swoon-and-faint? :)

Wow..looks like we are due for some really spectacular books coming up. No shortage of material to include. Must be quite some work photographing them all. How long does it take per sword?

Of course, this is an evidence, :rotfl:

Darcy, in your directory on shinsakuto, did you have more than the blade of ours you photographed? In other words, is that a subdirectory of more shinsakuto? Just curious as that's a major interest of mine (obviously) but I didn't see much in the way of high end shinsakuto at the show. Just curious if there might have been something I missed.

Oh, and I forgot -- thanks for showing me the photography rig. The sliding plexi with everything else stationary was one of those slap myself on the forehead deals... Once you get the lights right, every photo is then perfectly consistent. That was the one thing I could never find a way to work around and your solution was so elegantly simple. Argh, I used to be smarter than that... ;)

So yes, today I'm off to the hardware store for a large piece of plexi and a bit of lumber.

Oh, and the white wall on the box... Great idea.

And if you don't mind me asking, what brand flash was that you were using. I kept meaning to ask you that but never got the chance.
