Just wanted to know if anyone has dealt with Krasimir from Bulgaria. He wants to buy a sword from me and wants to pay with PayPal. After reading some horror stories here with PayPal I've become a bit cautious. Has anyone dealt with him before? If this is in the wrong section feel free to move it wherever it needs to be.

Regards

Hi Stephen

I'm not sure what his username is here as he contacted my privately via email. His email name is Krasimir Koev.

I've read some horror stories of people getting screwed over with PayPal payment. I'm just trying to ascertain this buyer.thanks

Bulgaria is a extremely corrupt country!

in case you do any business with people living in such areas / ( and do have to shipp marchandise to such areas... )

i personally only would accept a written contract, photocopy of id card and a payment via wire transfer only!

I was offering a blade on ebay and wrote not to send russia, china...

The buyer came from ukraine. I wait very long time on my money with help from ebay. The buyer pays fast but it needs a lot of time for transfer. After the money was booked i sent the sword to ukraine and fill out very carefully the custom documents and put it outside and inside the package. It needs more than 4 weeks to a little village near Kiev. The buyer told my it came on safely, no damage and in good condition without any problems. He pays his tax to the postman.

It was an adventure.

In my case ebay and paypal works perfect for both sides.

Christian,

In Bulgaria we have our problems, but is bad manners to think all of us is corrupt and criminal. We can talk bad think for almost еvery country in the world. Krasimir Koev Is very respected martial artist and former military. He wants to buy cheap wakizashi in a decent condition.I showed him Jeremy's offer. He prefers Paypal because the bank transfer costs $ 215. The price for waki is 500$ and it is not profitable to pay half or the price for bank transfer. End one more thing, it's illegally to want photocopy of id card.

Best regards from the bad side of the world

The community works. You're welcome Blagoy. I hope Koev get the Wakizashi. I'm proud to be a member of a community that works over worldwide boarders.

I would delete Christian's comment, but i think that it leads to Blagoy's one...which is important to keep here.
So will leave them up. While warnings about certain parts of the world are often valid, it is not ok to generalize like that. As an African, I accept the fact that people are cautious about doing business here. I don't even mind people cautioning sellers. But don't make outright statements about us.
Anyways, I think it is wonderful that Blagoy is able to show the other side, and also vouch for a seller. Thank you for that, and reminding us not to generalize.
I would not hesitate to deal with someone sent here by a long term and known member. Hope you both have a good sales experience, and nice to see how far this forum reaches.

Hello Jeremy,

Western Union is totally save on a sellers side while the buyer has the full risk as tehre is no protection of any kind. Western Unio is  nowadays often the best thing to do in international transaction between trusted parties as it is much much cheaper than PayPal. PayPal sucks in many ways.

I have to say that I do disagree with what Christian has said about Bulgaria. It ranks at place 71 out of 180 countries in the corruptioin index. So that is not that bad ,,, but even if it was the bottom line ... so what? What does this tell about yoir potential buyer? Nothing but the fact that he lives in a hardly developed country. I have had very good expirience with people from Bulgaria. No problem! We musn't predjudice against peope this way.

Furthermore advie to get someones ID or a written contract is no good, What if the other person is evil and wants to rip ypu off? Then they will just send you a false id and write in a contract what ever you wish to hear ...

As a seller get Western Union ir Wire and you are always fine. It is the oppsote for buyers though ...

Thank you. He seems genuine and I truly hope noone was offended in the process. The fact that he isn't a member here made me a bit more worried.

I have NO problem at all with people "checking people out" here. In fact I would encourage it.
I just want people to be a bit more careful with the replies. But all good, and I think the end result was good. There are countries to beware of...which is why due diligence is important. Ask away anytime.

Gentlemen,

there is certainly no reason or intend by me to kick somebody on the feet.

i did write what me here i would do!

We had some very bad experience in sending rather expensive arc welders ( see picture ) to Sofia last year- only 5 from 7 did officially arrive and were paid...

such speaking- i certainly did learn from such experience.

"comment s´échauffer d´une bonne manière" very certaily is not my intend.

such speaking...Mr.Koev may excuse me - no bad intend at all.
