TheGermanBastard Posted March 3, 2018 Report Posted March 3, 2018 I had allready opened a topic on those but can't locate it anymore. It took a while but I just got the Tsuba and thus was able to take some better images. While I am not knowledgeable on Tsuba I must say that I am very pleased with them.I do like especially the one with the stylized brants. 2 Quote
ROKUJURO Posted March 3, 2018 Report Posted March 3, 2018 Luis, very nice! I'll take the last one! I see bows and arrows, (YUMI to YA), KUKURI SARU (tumble toys), eggplant (NASUBI), and stylized snowflakes. All beautiful but can still be enhanced with a little TLC. 1 Quote
ROKUJURO Posted March 3, 2018 Report Posted March 3, 2018 Stop and back to zero! I'll take this beautiful SUKASHI/last one! 1 Quote
TheGermanBastard Posted March 3, 2018 Author Report Posted March 3, 2018 Thank you for your kind words Jean. The Sukashi is nice I think. A board member had sahred a link to an identical one which had been on auction with Bonhams & Butterfields some years ago. Quote
vajo Posted March 3, 2018 Report Posted March 3, 2018 WOW Luis all nice. I remeber some bad pictures. But these look alle very good. I like the bow and the moon and bridge tsuba very much Quote

Shugyosha Posted March 4, 2018 Report Posted March 4, 2018 Stop and back to zero! I'll take this beautiful SUKASHI/last one! That's a nice pick-up! There's a similar one here on Aoi with a Kyo sukashi attribution: https://www.aoijapan.com/tsuba-mumei-kyo-sukashi-hanabishi-mon Quote
TheGermanBastard Posted March 4, 2018 Author Report Posted March 4, 2018 Thank you John. The Aoi Tsuba is a pretty sweet deal! It is quite large and even has a costy paper! The Bonhams & Butterfields piece went for 1200 or 1300 without any papers. Quote
RobertM Posted March 5, 2018 Report Posted March 5, 2018 For the first one, the centre design a helmet crest? Quote
Tanto54 Posted March 7, 2018 Report Posted March 7, 2018 Not Luis, but I think he is referring to Geese... Quote
vajo Posted March 7, 2018 Report Posted March 7, 2018 Which one had goose? That with the fishing net? Quote
TheGermanBastard Posted March 7, 2018 Author Report Posted March 7, 2018 Number 4. You had once thought it was stylized goose. Quote
vajo Posted March 7, 2018 Report Posted March 7, 2018 Really Luis? I think it is a fishing net. But who knows. Quote
TheGermanBastard Posted March 7, 2018 Author Report Posted March 7, 2018 Yes it was definately you and me is the uneducated idiot who will also listen to you if told me it is a stylized UFO Anyway I personally like that Tsuba very much. It has a very elegant feel to it. The late Japanese Gentlemen from whomse esate it came had labelled it as Muromachi periode. However I can not make a judgment on this. I definately think though that it is not a late Edo piece. 1 Quote
vajo Posted March 7, 2018 Report Posted March 7, 2018 Haha Luis - I'm the most uneducated fool, not you but I wan't to belive... Quote
