Swey Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 Hello, I would appreciate a little help with the translation of this tang. If you have information about the blacksmith too. Thank you very much Quote
lonely panet Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 kane mitsu maybe mino, but there are from memory approx. 30 or so of them . I have no idea as to yours sorry Quote
Swey Posted February 24, 2018 Author Report Posted February 24, 2018 Thank you for your response. So, according to the list seen here : https://nihontoclub.com/view/smiths/meisearch?type=All&mei_op=contains&mei=kanemitsu It would be : https://nihontoclub.com/smiths/KAN1473 Or it's more complicated than that. Kronos Posted February 24, 2018 Report Posted February 24, 2018 Much more complicated I'm afraid as their naga-mei (full signature) would be something like noshu-seki ju kanemitsu but they also signed often with a shorter niji mei (two character given name) for a variety of reasons. So it could probably be any of the 20-30 mino smiths or possibly one from a different province. Quote
Swey Posted February 24, 2018 Author Report Posted February 24, 2018 Ok, i will post more pics in few days. Thanks Quote
