Guest Lee Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Hi, This sword was on Ebay and sold for more than $4,200.00 It said it was signed Tsunemune. I looked for a long time and only found a Tsunemune that was left hand man for an Emperor . Anyone Know ? Lee Quote
Guest Nanshoku-Samurai Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Lee, who ever bought this did not get a bargain. Regards, Max Quote
Guest Lee Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Hi Max, It was a floor bidder. Crazy ! That was the only picture of it. Maybe he knows what it was. I could not find anything on a Tsunemune in my books. Lee Quote
Hermes Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 I watched it go yesterday, i thought most of the swords they had sold for too much considering the pictures of them sucked, though 3 medium swords that where sold as "not researched" sold for only around $700 i believe, everything else went for big bucks IMO. I can see the floor bidders having seen the swords had a much better picture of the swords, but the Internet bidders had a very poor picture of just one shot of them, still the prices went very high, not even considering the added 15% fee. Guest Lee Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Hi James, The three swords on one lot sold for $1,400.00 , I bid on those ,low bid . The two tanto's went way high. Lee Quote
alant Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 I saw that sword and others from the same auction house. Maybe the buyers had additional (better) pictures emailed to them or viewed in person. Quote
Ludolf Richter Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Hi,I once bought a fine sword which had a wrong description in the catalogue:I had payed for an extra photo of the Mei.Maybe the Mei of that sword reads Tsunamune instead of Tsunemune!Ludolf Quote
