Gakusee Posted May 29, 2018 Report Posted May 29, 2018 I am glad his website came back online. For a few months he was offline and he has built a truly remarkable collection with Juyo rated examples of the major schools. Quote
Surfson Posted May 29, 2018 Report Posted May 29, 2018 Has anybody ever bought a sword from him and can vouch? How does it work when there is $20K (or whatever) at stake traveling Germany? Quote
BIG Posted May 30, 2018 Author Report Posted May 30, 2018 Yes Robert, can strongly recomment Mr. Hoppen and his high end swords. Check it out. Best Quote

BIG Posted January 18, 2019 Author Report Posted January 18, 2019 Hi all, Mr. Hoppen sells the: Rai Kunimitsu Enju Ko-Ichimonji Ko-Aoe Tadahiro Katana Tadayoshi Katana and others, not listed in his Blog For a special price.. Best Quote
kissakai Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 Are the prices shown or do I need to send a price request? Quote
BIG Posted January 18, 2019 Author Report Posted January 18, 2019 Grev, he don't notice prices. Feel free to tell him your price and feel free to ask about his hidden treasures. Think you can find very good swords for fair prices. Best 1 Quote
Brian Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 Peter,Trouble is, by nature people won't ask for prices. I know most don't want to post prices and say "contact for price" but I think they lose 85% of the market that way. There is no temptation, and any serious seller should just post prices if they really want to sell. Quote
BIG Posted January 18, 2019 Author Report Posted January 18, 2019 Right Brian, said the same as you, but he wants to tell no prices. So he is the boss. When someone is interested in the Ko-Ichimonji, I think he will sell for a really good price. Secondly there are some more very good swords, he don't list, cause he won't sell them the other day. But will sell them today. So if someone wants to buy a treasure ( not in Japan..!) in Germany, talk to him. Best Quote
Jussi Ekholm Posted January 19, 2019 Report Posted January 19, 2019 We got to see few of his collection at Samurai Art Expo like Michael hinted above, very nice items. I can totally understand his decision to go without prices. It often happens with high quality items. Quote
Tanto54 Posted January 19, 2019 Report Posted January 19, 2019 Dear Peter, Thanks for bringing this to our attention - I've sent Mr. Hoppen a message. 1 Quote
