charlie1 Posted February 1, 2018 Report Posted February 1, 2018 Looking for the silk surate more than the tsuka but will buy both. Thanks Chuck
IJASWORDS Posted February 2, 2018 Report Posted February 2, 2018 Charlie, it is my experience that you can't get the silk sarute out of the tsuka unless it is cut. The cord is actually sewn in one piece as a continuous loop.
vajo Posted February 2, 2018 Report Posted February 2, 2018 Neil is correct. If the cord is cut the Sarute is broken.
PNSSHOGUN Posted February 2, 2018 Report Posted February 2, 2018 I'd always wondered how they secured silk Sarute, thought it was like normal Sarute: two ends secured to each end of the barrel. Thanks for clearing that up Neil.
charlie1 Posted February 2, 2018 Author Report Posted February 2, 2018 Kind of wondering what the next move will be. It’s my favorite army sword and the current silk sarute finally broke apart. It’s been hanging on by a thread for years. No knot on it but time just took its toll.
