vajo Posted January 17, 2018 Report Posted January 17, 2018 I've got yesterday my Masayoshi type3 star stamp Gendaito with fresh polish from England. I take this evening some detailed pictures of the 66,4 cm (26") long blade. Hope you like the picturesque kikusui-ba hamon interpretation like i. Many thanks to Alex who brings me to the sword. And to Bill Tagg of liverpool militaria and Mr. Bolton who brings the sword back to life. 6 Quote
Alex A Posted January 17, 2018 Report Posted January 17, 2018 Turned out well Chris, I now see why folk go for these blades, might have the next one I see That's if I ever get my hands on one of those ******* Slough books!!! 1 Quote
jamesr Posted January 17, 2018 Report Posted January 17, 2018 Very nice! There is something about the more subdued look of a type 3 that I find compelling, and yours is an amazing example. James R 1 Quote

IJASWORDS Posted January 18, 2018 Report Posted January 18, 2018 Chris, a great example, looks pristine, the type3 is one of my favourites, and yours is superb. 1 Quote
EdWolf Posted January 18, 2018 Report Posted January 18, 2018 Very nice! Congratulations, Chris! Best regards, Ed Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted January 18, 2018 Report Posted January 18, 2018 Perfect example, thanks for sharing! Just needs a tassel Quote
vajo Posted January 18, 2018 Author Report Posted January 18, 2018 Thank you Ed. Hello John. Thank you. With this sword came a late war tassel (brown one). But it is in such bad condition to store it with the sword in the bag. I took it in a extra box. 2 Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted January 18, 2018 Report Posted January 18, 2018 I think it deserves a nice good condition tassel to match the condition and new polish, and let the old one rest as it is. Quote
Windy Posted January 18, 2018 Report Posted January 18, 2018 Lovely sword. Who did the polish? I’ve got an Akihisa in Type 3 mounts, in fairly acceptable WWII polish. Often wonder about getting her some love? Quote
kyushukairu Posted January 18, 2018 Report Posted January 18, 2018 I love the chrysanthemum hamon, Chris. I also have a couple of spare company grade (brown and blue) tassels if you are looking for one Quote
vajo Posted January 18, 2018 Author Report Posted January 18, 2018 Thanks again for the nice words. Kyle at the moment not. But i will come back to you when i'm ready with building a cabinet. 1 Quote
