parfaitelumiere Posted December 17, 2017 Report Posted December 17, 2017 Hello,From what I have read the iron plate could be late Muromachi or Momoyama period, especially because of the pinching on top of seppa dai.It has hammering surface and some stamping, design seems to be "Dai chi"Do you think it's Tembo, Saotome or something else?I was first thinking about Tembo, but I read the Saotome school made similar design at earlier period and the gomoku plating is showing obvious older plate underneath. Size is about 84mm x81mm x 3,5mm (without gomoku layer) Quote
Rich S Posted December 17, 2017 Report Posted December 17, 2017 I think a gomoku zogan on a Saotome plate. I have a pic of my daisho like that on my website: http://www.japaneseswordindex.com/tsuba/tsubadai.htm See second from bottom row at right. Nice Tsuba. Rich Quote
parfaitelumiere Posted December 17, 2017 Author Report Posted December 17, 2017 That was also my opinion.Hum, it's interesting all these daisho pictures, you should add the leasurments on them, and maybe larger click pictures. Quote
