vajo Posted November 17, 2017 Report Posted November 17, 2017 This offer looks in my eyes like an old franklin mint package. The price is a little strange. Any idea? https://www.ebay.com/itm/A-Set-of-3PCS-Stunning-Amazing-Rare-Old-Japanese-Real-Steel-Swords-Marked-US166/302424835158?hash=item4669ecc456:g:1psAAOSwYxBaA~-- Quote

eternal_newbie Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 Made yesterday in China. Franklin Mint is actually a tiny step up from this. Grey I don't know Grey, I've had the misfortune of running across a few FM 'samurai' items in the past, and I'll say that as obviously fake as these are, they're better than the average FM effort (think sanded-on sawtooth hamon and nylon tsukamaki). That price though... sheesh! Quote
Baka Gaijin Posted November 18, 2017 Report Posted November 18, 2017 Hi Guys., What made me chuckle was this: We are not familiar with Chinese items. Check out the country of origin of the seller's 750 other items in the store................ 1 Quote
vajo Posted November 18, 2017 Author Report Posted November 18, 2017 Wow! What a bargain...... Haha John i was the same thinking as i see it. But why the hell they ask such a price. Thats total crazy (the ebay costs are much higher than the package) Quote
johngdo Posted November 22, 2017 Report Posted November 22, 2017 My assumption with an item like this is that the seller posts it in hopes that someone will "low-ball" them at say $1000 and feel that they got the swords at a steal when the seller accepts. These swords are junk, but if you establish their value at $16,000 then someone who doesn't know any better would naturally assume they are something to be sought after. Honestly, to an untrained eye, this would look like a pretty nice set. It presents nicely. Also, if this isn't a red flag, I don't know what is. As the seller suggests, have care. We are not familiar with Chinese items. We don't accept return by the reason of buyer's remorse and careless bid. Please read described information closely before you bid.We don't accept complaint based on information that is not described. We ask you to bid items on your own responsibility. If you cannot take your responsibility to your bid, please refrain from bidding. If you have any question, please email us,we're glad to answer you. 1 Quote
