vajo Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 Two times was the same nagamitsu type3 sword on ebay. I take part on the auctions, never win, but nobody wins ever this auction. What sense make it to take it on auction. Why not a fix price and the offer button? I think this sword doesn't exists only on paper. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/MASSIVE-MINTY-WW2-GENDAITO-by-ICHIHARA-NAGAMITSU-1940-Japanese-Samurai-sword/282724040113?hash=item41d3aa7db1:g:0LoAAOSwBopZ4o9F Such doing is not a good reputation for a sword dealer in my opinion. Grey Doffin Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 Hi Chris, I know the seller. He wants you to contact him through ebay and arrange a sale outside of ebay. It is safe to do this with this seller. Grey 2 Quote
vajo Posted November 7, 2017 Author Report Posted November 7, 2017 It's to late now after all the biddings. I have bought a Nagamitsu from a friendly member here from seattle. He said a price and we come to an agreement. I didn't know what the show on ebay should be. It is a very nice sword and a very good one to collect. Now the time is over. Maybe someone else could buy it. I'm angry. Thanks Grey that is very kindley. Next time i ask you. Quote
christianmalterre Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 very certainly a unprofessional habitude! do neglect this seller- do cancel any interest! also in future! there are profs around here! we do not need such gamblers! not? Christian Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 Not. Eric just has a different way of doing business, & it's not gambling. Quote
Surfson Posted November 8, 2017 Report Posted November 8, 2017 i think that you can trust this seller too, but if you plan to contact somebody outside of ebay, be careful. The website discourages buyers and sellers from exchanging email addresses or phone numbers and even punishes those that take sales off of ebay. 1 Quote
Alex A Posted November 8, 2017 Report Posted November 8, 2017 Take it from me, Robert is spot on ^, as I found out. Best way to reach him http://www.owazamono.com/Home.html Quote
vajo Posted November 8, 2017 Author Report Posted November 8, 2017 When i click on the button swords i see only black. The others works well. If anyone is interested in that sword his asking price is $2.800 + $135 shipping. Best Chris Quote
Michaelr Posted November 8, 2017 Report Posted November 8, 2017 Alex I also went to the page that you posted and no swords. Says it was last updated in 2010. I think that the people that defend his type of selling on eBay haven’t been involved in any of his auctions. Vajo as you I have bid good money on two of his swords only to be supposedly out bid at every step, and then the auction ends and the sword is sold. But wait for it——- it reappears for sale again. Say what you want I won’t deal with a person like this. Say what you want ,if he wants you to contact him outside of eBay then he should just put a high reserve on the sword and say if you have any questions contact me. Just my opinion. I am sure he won’t miss my money but I am sure that I won’t miss his type of dealings. There are many GREAT people here on the board that don’t have to play games, know what they have for sale, and are glad to help you along the way. When I make a purchase here there is no BS and I know what I am getting and usually I am more impressed after I receive the item because it is even better than I thought. Just my two cents Mike 3 Quote
Alex A Posted November 8, 2017 Report Posted November 8, 2017 Hi Mike, i meant his email address is on his website, for contacting him about stuff thats on Ebay. I dont do Ebay auctions for Nihonto related stuff for various reasons, although if i can get a good deal by going in through the back door, i will. Quote
Michaelr Posted November 8, 2017 Report Posted November 8, 2017 Thank you Alex. I understand MikeR Quote
vajo Posted November 8, 2017 Author Report Posted November 8, 2017 Hello Michael. You are right what you say. A auction is a pricefinding situation. If i start with $1 i must be sure to get the money i want or i didn't know how much it is worth. To take of the auction shortly before it ends is very bad for the lot of people who are interested in the piece. Where is the problem to say i want this price for an outstanding piece? Quote
Shamsy Posted November 11, 2017 Report Posted November 11, 2017 There is nothing in eBay policy that stops you saying the sword is also for sale outside of eBay. You cannot state you won't sell through eBay though. Quote
