kazarena Posted November 5, 2017 Report Posted November 5, 2017 I’m offering a beautiful Choshu school tsuba. I purchased it from a well known NMB collector almost 10 years ago. This is an unsigned work by Kiyotaka, the founder of the Inoue Ke of Choshu. With gold highlights. Design is believed to be 'RAN' which are grass orchids. It’s a beautiful Art Nouveau precursor. Period: circa 1751-1764 Dimensions: 7.3cm x 6.8cm x 7mm I used to have a picture of a virtually identical tsuba by Kiyotaka (it came with the sale) but a signed one. It was lost with my (now stolen) laptop Here is another signed example: http://shapiro.com.au/lots/choshu-school-iron-tsuba-39341/ That one comes with a chunky price estimate: $1,200 - $1,800. The tsuba I'm selling is also a fair bit larger. The tsuba comes in a handmade indigo bag. Location: Europe $750 including shipping to EU/UK (other regions: please ask for a shipping quote), PayPal extra Kind regards, Stan
