Anybody Else Spot This Bizarre Ebay Naginata?

I've never seen anything quite like it. I just wanted to share. From what I've read since finding it this style of Naginata is quite rare.

 

I thought that you may all enjoy taking a look, and honestly for the price it's an interesting piece.

It was described correctly as a Chikushi naginata. The seller is also a member here (recommended). I will share a Saneo example shortly.

I wonder how the blade is fixed.

I see two mekugi ana at the AOI offer. But none at the ebay offer.

There looks to be one under the string if you look closely. Otherwise probably "normal" axe fixing with a metal or hardwood splint struck down from top.

The one that Ray posted looks to have two holes, but it is actually two photos of the blade shown from each side shown in tandem, making it look like a pair of blades.  It is actually a very cool, and very old, piece.  Cheers, Bob
