toukerb Posted October 5, 2017 Report Posted October 5, 2017 I would be most grateful for any help in identifying the school/age of the tsuba in the accompanying photographs. It is of shakudo with a ground of nanako with a dragon of gold takazogan weaving, in and out, from one side of the tsuba to the other. the nanako extends fully around the edge of the tsuba. Many thanks in advance for thoughts you may have Marc Quote

nagamaki - Franco Posted October 5, 2017 Report Posted October 5, 2017 Hello Marc, A Waki Goto school tsuba would be my guess. Quote
toukerb Posted October 5, 2017 Author Report Posted October 5, 2017 Thanks Stephen, I agree with you it's a pretty ugly piece of work Unfortunately it wishes to remain with the remainder of the koshirae it belongs to and with the Suriage blade housed within it. I'll let you know if I come across a loose one I can send you. marc Quote
