Wayben Posted September 28, 2017 Report Posted September 28, 2017 I had a two piece habaki that had a piece of the gold foil separated from the habaki. I contacted Brian Tschernega about getting it repaired and forwarded the habaki and the loose piece of foil to him a while back. I received the habaki in the mail today and it looks great. He was able to reattach the original foil and cleaned up the habaki. It looks like new. If you need any similar repair work done I can fully recommend Brian. 7 Quote

Ray Singer Posted September 28, 2017 Report Posted September 28, 2017 Glad to hear it. Brian is the only habaki-shi I use, including habaki for swords I sent to Japan for the remainder of their restoration. 12 Quote

celt72 Posted September 29, 2017 Report Posted September 29, 2017 I'm lucky enough to live 15 minutes from him. Every now and then he invites me over to talk swords and see what he's working on. It is always a pleasure. 4 Quote
nagamaki - Franco Posted September 29, 2017 Report Posted September 29, 2017 Hello, When you consider that the habaki is a prelude of what's to come as the sword is being drawn out of the saya, a Brian san habaki makes the journey that much more eventful. 1 Quote
nagamaki - Franco Posted September 29, 2017 Report Posted September 29, 2017 (edited) Yeah, yeah, patience grasshopper , one of my cats walked across the computer key board and not only deleted a sword file, but managed to empty the waste basket, too, . New pics coming soon. previously owned; Edited September 30, 2017 by nagamaki - Franco 4 Quote
Wayben Posted October 2, 2017 Author Report Posted October 2, 2017 Since everyone else is posting pics, I figured I should too. Just to prove it really happened. 5 Quote
Curran Posted October 2, 2017 Report Posted October 2, 2017 Two piece gold lingerie, fitting very nicely. *blush* Such nice habaki and only a brief glimpse of what appear to be very nice blades. It feels akin to scandalous Victorians flashing their ankles. 4 Quote
