hi i have just obtained a blade with a shirasaya that has come apart ,there are some interesting kanji and possibly clues to who owned the sword and at what date ,i do not have acess :?: to the correct rice glues , are there any modern types of glue that could be used ,also inside of shirasaya needs cleaning ,is this some thing a layman can do or is the whole process best left to experts.

Hi Anthony,

In Information on the links page on this site, Dave's Nihonto site.

There is a little write up on Rice glue, Tesco's own plain pudding rice does the job well.

Regards

Mark
