acoyauh Posted August 12, 2017 Report Posted August 12, 2017 Hello, I will appreciate your help in the transliteration of this mei, and of course any other feedback would be very welcome. This is a sword for sale, owner sent the pics as they are (I know they are not ideal, but they are what I got) sorry I cannot provide a straight closeup. The steel and hamon appear to be a handmade blade, not showato, so I'm interested in knowing more about the tosho if possible and assess whether it's worth buying. Thank you in advance for any feedback and opinions! Quote
SwordGuyJoe Posted August 12, 2017 Report Posted August 12, 2017 It's nagamura kiyonobu. Not good enough pics for me to say if it's gendaito or showato. This smith was from Seki and made both. 1 Quote
acoyauh Posted August 12, 2017 Author Report Posted August 12, 2017 Thank you, Joe It does not seem to have an armory stamp, and from the blade pics (will try to upload more somewhere) it's a pretty decent work. Quote
acoyauh Posted August 12, 2017 Author Report Posted August 12, 2017 LOL sorry for that, too many antiques in a small brain 1 Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted August 13, 2017 Report Posted August 13, 2017 He was a Rikugun Jumei Tosho smith, I have seen examples of his showato without stamps before. Signed under Osamura and Nagamura Kiyonobu. 1 Quote
