It's just very tired. Looks like core steel coming through, and the temper has become weak.

 

I would avoid this sword...

 

I wasnt going to buy it. I was gaining knowledge. Learning a bit about the appearance of swords pictured on the net is helpfull. Diserning what is valuable and what isnt is not easy for the novice.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one, unless your post is really relevant and adds to the topic..
