Dereksure Posted June 28, 2017 Report Posted June 28, 2017 Does anyone based in the UK has some antique seppa for sale? Cheers
Barrie B Posted June 30, 2017 Report Posted June 30, 2017 Derek, Antique seppa are/were custom made (to a very particular size) to fit the nakago, the fuchi and the koiguchi... Usually the seppa at the koiguchi was just slightly bigger, but either way, the seppa should only be slightly larger than the fuchi/ koiguchi. And, that is not even taking into account the 'scallops' accomodating the kogai or Kozuka - if fitted.. There is nothing worse than seeing oversized or loose seppa. The best thing might be to buy a checkering file and make your own, if you have to. Or commission them... I have made Seppa in the past, because I can't stand miss-matched/loose seppa etc.. With a bit of tarnish/patina, they look good.. Good luck with your hunt. Barrie.
