Hi,

I was trolling e-bay and saw this, the blade itself looks as if it was put to the grinder, the hommon can somewhat be seen, the tsuba/tsuka/menkqui,fushi and koshari look OK. I've been looking for a project blade (at a resonable price) to practice some polishing. I was wondering if this is an authentic Japanese blade or a China scrap, I having trouble deciding.

Thanks

sanbonsugi hamon.

FYI, I had one sword which has been ground, copy of this one. Once polished it turns out well except for a big and long ware the hada being running italme/masame

Hi,

Thanks guys. Jean, I will proceed with caution. I guess grinding or scratching the blade is a good way of hiding flaws if the seller desires to do so, kind of drastic though.

Pierre,

You'll be facing the greatest challenge which is to draw perfect symetric crisp lines : Shinogi and yokote.

FYI, if I tried it, I'll get an inazuma shinogi line, I'm so clumsy

At first, try to open a window.
