Hi Brian,

Translating this TV episode: there is this PC game about the Japanese sword and samuras that ignited the sword boom among young Japanese girls.  In the opening scene, the curator of the sword museum mentioned that this exhibition drew 40,000 visitors which he had never seen before.  The sword boom among the Japanese took place 40 years ago.  Would this be an another sword boom?

The story goes on to the missing 78 national treasury after the WW2.  Speculation is that they ended up at the so-called "Akabane-to" where GHQ confiscated over 2 million nihon-to.  Akabane is the area north east of Tokyo.  Most of those swords were taken back to the States as souvenir.

And there is this Tampa Show.  Also, the interview with Mike Yamazaki who has been studying the Akabane-to for over 30 years in LA.

The Masamune waki was donated by the Japanese ship tycoon to the General who passed it on to the President.

It was an interesting flick.  Thanks, Ray.
